Not an easy answer.   For instance, what are we 'matching'??  Older cars with 'aged' silver paint?  Recent production cars in new condition?

All that aside, though, I've never painted a silver 2400 series car.  I have redone several 2500 series (aluminum) cars and found that Tamiya's Silver Leaf, TS-30, in the 100ml rattle-can is my favorite match for painting the silver vestibules, dome, truck side frames (if appropriate) for those cars.  Plus, the Tamiya rattle-can has a superior spray head, spray pattern/quality among the common rattle-can hobby paints.  But, that's just my humble opinion.

I'm sure others will have an alternate choice....

Thanks KD.

I've always preferred Tamiya's paints for your stated reasons.  I've also thought that their paint particle size may be smaller also contributing to their superior finishes.

Your right to ask about what am I trying to match.  It is 50's Clifton Vista dome.  So, it shouldn't be shinny silver.  If it's too shinny I'll try their semi-gloss over it.  I'll practice on the underside of it.

Thanks,

Alan
