Lionel 260E Replacement Boiler Front | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have a green frame 260E that needs a new boiler front since one of the flag holders is broken. I am not very well versed in prewar O, but did find a suitable 261-2 front that looks exactly like the one I have. I did see on Olsen's that the 260E and 261 had different part numbers, but wasn't sure if they were still the same basic part. The 260E part number is 260-E61. Will the 261-2 work on the 260E?

It will not. the 261 is smaller.
