Hello All,
I am trying to replace the "safety wire" on the Coal Ramp as mine is broken. A quick search of Lionel's website yields no repair items. Is there anything you have done to replace this wire or any ideas as to where I can find a direct replacement? Ideas and photos of repairs are encouraged!

I used braided fishing line for one. I don't recall exactly which type. I have several spools in my shop, including black, and white in several weights.
The early ramps used wire similar to the wire used to hang pictures and a carpet tack wedged in the end to hold the wire.
The recent Lionel repro uses shiny, solid wire like music wire, or maybe nickel plated steel.
Thanks to TrainLarry, Olsen Toy Train lists part #456-59, for $2.00, but other suppliers probably have it.
