We have been through this many times, usually that means its the second part of a partial order. But might as well check with your LHS

I'm curious to see and hear the differences between these new Legacy versions and the last version.  I have both of the previous Lionel sccale releases and there were significant changes between them.  Primarily sounds, motor type and traction.

The last version, with elephant ears, is great.  Improved Railsounds, better smoke, Pittman motor and traction tires.

It will be interesting to see what Legacy added?  A better 'Swoosh"?  I don't believe running performance can be improved.

I didn't spring for the Legacy but if the 'Builders' look is significantly different with Baldwin highlights, I might.

Not as many times as the darn schedule has been wrong.  There's just no defending that thing.  It has ZERO credibility.

There's enough confusion of what's shipped... courtesy of Lionel's online shipping schedule.    That's why I noted Nicholas Smith Trains had all models in stock.  Their website usually only shows stuff that's arrived at the store.

Not a big deal.  Life will go on.  Just want to be accurate with the information we disseminate here.

Absolutely.  That's why EVERYONE here needs to think about that, since we don't have the luxury of seeing faces and hearing vocal inflections when we post something that negates what someone else here may have already stated.

By the way... Has anyone actually seen the Builders Scheme model first-hand?  It's illustrated with silver trim axle caps, and I'm curious if Lionel actually produced it that way.

Lionel catalog'd the Legacy black coal-burning Challenger loco with the silver axle caps, and then only produced it that way in S-Gauge.  The O-Gauge Legacy model didn't have the silver axle caps like the earlier TMCC model did.

I think it's a cool look, so hopefully the Pennsy Turbine will have the silver trim axle caps as illustrated in the catalog.

Yesterday I saw the 6200 with elephant ears, the Builder's Special, and the 671. They looked stunning. Can't wait to get mine. Dave, yes the Builder's Special has the silver wheel caps(I think that's what they are called). Only problem is they have a plastic coal load. To me that's not really a bad thing. Can't wait to get mine.

There are 2 6200's. The Builder's special, and the elephant ear version. Yes those 2 have the same color finish with the exception of the silver caps on the BS one. The one is the 671 which is black w/Lionel Lines. They did not have the 681 on display. In the catalog that looked exactly like the elephant ear version.
