For inventory purposes, I would like to know when this engine was made and what catalog, if any, did it appear in? Folks selling this engine say it was made in 1989; but, I cannot verify this in any 1989 catalog that I have (from LCCA).

This locomotive was part of a Year End Deal (or YED as referred to by TM) that Lionel often did during the Richard Kughn era, so it was only advertised in Lionel's so called "Stocking Stuffer" flyers of the year. It's a reason why many reference guides list this as "uncataloged."
Thank you! That explains it. I was under the assumption that the LCCA had all the Lionel "catalogs" including flyers available on their site in digital. I guess they missed a few. Now, I need to find at least the cover art for that flyer.
