Hello, any help or input would be much appreciated. Bought a used locomotive off eBay and after testing have serious issues. The rail sounds work great, the issue is forward or reverse it simply loses voltage and resets itself like there is a short circuit. This unit has two AC pullmor motors both motors spin freely and are not binding as well as the axles. Now the front truck has issues in that the motor spins but does not drive the wheels and after trying to disassemble as far as possible can only assume a gear is stripped. The rear truck unit does move the wheels but only if you pull up the rear and apply voltage slowly will they get up to speed and run but once you put it on the track and give it that much voltage it simply stutters and resets itself. Maybe a circuit board? Now with all that said, I am also running a cheap 2002 Lionel transformer rated at 3 amps and when the voltage cuts out is because the transformer has reset itself. So the next question is do I need a bigger/better transformer or is it resetting itself because there’s too much resistance in my locomotive? I don’t have access to another transformer readily without buying one. Maybe go to my local hobby shop and see if they can test it? It’s disappointing as I wanted to run this unit but it would also look good on a display shelf. Thanks for looking at this post, Brian
