I was given this car but it is missing a few pieces. One is a door, the door guide and 2 pins that attach the guide. I have tried EBay and Tandem but the repro doors are a different orange. I know there are different doors and want to make sure that the color and style match with the other door on the car. Any idea where else theses parts can be found?

The door Guide is part# 6464-5; the door Guide stud is part# 3656-153. Brasseurs or Www.ttender.com (Jeff Kane), both carry these parts. The correct number for the door comes up with conflicts, but a possible match is 6464-428, as on number. Check Trainz.com with that number, or try description of orange box car door.
I have checked all of these places for the door. The problem is that none match the orange on the car I have because they have repro’s. I need an original 2 panel door, not 5 panel.
In all honesty, the Great Northern Orange Box Car is fairly common and available. Your best bet may be to find another one.
The set that has this car was given to me by a relative as a gift. Her brother passed away and no one wanted the 2 sets she gave me. I want to repair the boxcar so that when it is done I can send her a picture of what it looked like back in the 50’s. I realise this will be a process but I have nothing else to do so I will search for a door.
