There have been multiple discussions on this web about numbering some Lionel boxcars with the 6464 designation-especially when they lack the top&bottom door guides and the riveting of the post war 6464s. I have recently seen a few modern Lionel boxcars with almost full body riveting but only one top door guide-like the 6-15066 Cotton Belt and the 20982-red P&LE NYC ( from a RTR set-? 2005?). Both of these are IMHO nice looking-and have a plastic bottom with sprung trucks. They are are close to the PW 6464s except for having only one ( non metal) door guide. Does anybody have a list of these cars-and/or knows more about their production/history. Thanks P Hering
