This project is coming to a close. Just finished getting the powered A in running order. Still need to add steps and steam and air pipes between units and weather.

Those look sweet Ron.
Gorgeous.
I cannot see... there is big yellow truck blocking the view! Can you show us more?
I know you affixed the pilot to the shell but other improvements?
Thanks guys,
J daddy I will post better pics and video today.
Wow! Looks great !!
The certainly look realistic Ron - You've done a real bang-up job with there!
They look great Ron. Very nice job and I like your weathering too.
I think it's a nice job too. Much more realistic looking.
The engine has a great realistic look of being used!
NOW they really look good!
Super super job. You've hit a homerun with this one!
Ron- can you tell us how you lowered these puppies again?
Ron been following this from the start. It really came out great to including the weathering. Grimy pilots were a fact of life especially as the engines got older. Either way they looked good. So, what's next Mr Wizard?
Beautiful Ron!
Thanks for the compliments guys.
J daddy the original article is just a page or two back on 3RS, super detailing lionel ATSF E 6s.
However, this was a nightmare to do and I don't recommend my method to anyone. Taking the trucks apart and cutting the limit tangs is a wooly process. It is especially frustrating trying to put it all back together. I wished now I had cut the body posts to drop the bodies. But even doing it that way creates a interference problem between the roof and the motors. I would have had to install new shorter can motors. Knowing what I now know I would wait for Scott Mann to produce these.
However if you want to give it a try I'll answer any questions one might have along the way.
Suzukovich,
Back to converting Atlas 1/48 2 rail turnouts to 3 rail and getting to run some trains again. This is part of the Carbondale Junction project.
Some interim projects I'm going to do is converting some GGD heavyweights to model Santa Fe heavyweights with all the extra roof detail they had.
Ron
Looks great! What's the next project?
