Next train show, pick up a 2026-44 spring. It is very fine and closes to full compression. On your work bench, remove the Berkshires shell. Loosen the smoke unit and lift is straight up. As it begins to come off the smoke piston, hold the piston with your other hand and continue lifting the smoke unit. Insert the spring large side up inside the chamber and then slide the piston back in. Close everything back up and test it - the clicking noise should be gone.
