It seems that every time I log into the forums these days it is more divisive.  "The original thread" that was merely asking if anyone else had issues wandered off into so many areas including but not limited to toxic dog food and kid's toys.  We want it cheaper better and faster.  While this is an unfortunate situation it is not the end of the world and I imagine Lionel is made aware of it very rapidly through the forum.  Now that they have been made aware of it there is a seemingly very simple procedure to follow as well as more than a few workarounds to handle it.

Thanks for all the information and I will continue to shop for Manufacturers and with those that support me on issues such as this.  that currently includes Lionel and all of the Forum sponsors I have dealt with.

Thanks Mike even though it's not your department anymore.  Keep going the direction you are going in!  I LIKE it!

I just received the replacement bushings and installed them. They look to be identical to the ones that came in the engine except they are not broken .

They installed perfectly and I did not use any glue since they are tight and snapped in place with out fracturing.

As I said I can use the "ground" contact strip to hold in bushings that have their keepers snapped off. With the ground spring under the axle and pushing the axle into place, it won't fall out with broken tabs on the bushings. If these don't snap off by themselves later, I'll leave the spring contact in the way it came and I'm done with this repair.

Thanks for the quick shipment of bushings Lionel. Great customer service. Great engine.
