Lionel Bettendorf truck kingpin screw size?

Anyone?

If it is close to 4-40 it is, likely, an M3.  Just figure out what length you need (in mm) and visit a hardware or big box store.

Thanks. I was thinking it might be an M3, but most stores in my area don't carry metric screws that small. I could order a Metric assortment set to get it, but I was holding off in case someone responded that it was 3-48 (which I also don't have in stock).

Both blue and the orange big box stores list M3 screws in a  couple of different lengths.

There are a few different Lionel truck models that could be called "Bettendorf." Along with that, a lot of Lionel trucks had long production lives, and fastening methods changed over time.

Without additional information -- a photo, model number, item number that the truck came off of, etc. -- the only information you'll receive will be guesses.
