It looks like the Scale Auto Carriers will be nicely matched with the O Scale 86' Boxcars.

I don't know if I should be excited or kicking and screamming.
The Southern Passenger Car are a welcome item but no having the E8's to pull them with would have been nice as well. Also I hope that Lionel will drop the dome car from the set and add another coach.
It they do that then I'll be on board to order this lonag awaited passenger set!!
I have two questions:
is the Sd70 in that conrail set the sd60M relabeled as an Sd70M as was done back in the mid 2000?
I do NOT remember a red PRR logo on Any PRR hopper.. never mind the GLa series of hoppers!
I see they must have spotted my command Tie-Jector, they finally made one.
Scrappy,
After comparing the features and dimensions to 2005 model #4294 which I have and love I can tell you that I will be ordering both 11464 #4286 and the 11465 #4275 with the paint scheme. The new ones do list in the features a Authentically detailed cab interior & whistle steam effect. They are only $150 MSRP over the 2005 model.
is the 'daylight painted version" a fantasy paint scheme.
No doubt about it!
On the other hand, what would be REALLY COOL, is if Lionel would offer one of those cab forwards in the "late steam era" paint job with NO NAME on the tenders, and that silver front!
Thank you. I knew I could count on you for the right answer!

Gunrunner, what is "Command Tie-Jector?

An operating Tie-Jector car that can be controlled via Legacy. See page 118 of the new Signature catalog.

When I saw the Southern Aluminum Passenger Car, I thought very cool. Then I thought I missed something when I saw no engine to pull them. I wonder if Lionel intended at some point while putting the catalog together to have the E8's to pull these cars.
I see they have dinner cars in these sets but no station sounds. I was expecting or hoping to see some station sound cars for Heavyweight and Aluminum passenger car sets that were made in the past several years.
As usual, I am disappointed at how few Amtrak items there are. I was encouraged that they're offering an Amtrak set, but, that's all. No high-end diesels or cars, nothing. Come on, Lionel!
The Iowa Interstate ES44AC is tempting, but the catalog art shows the headlight in the wrong place - above the cab instead of on the nose. All the Evolutions in this catalog have the headlights pictured that way, when it's inaccurate for every single one. Hopefully Lionel will fix this once they're built.
Nothing that I really need in any of the catalogs, but they were fun to look at.
I have a ton of Amtrak cars, and I was also looking for a decent Legacy engine for them, no dice.
Because of somebody's typing error the PS-4 flat cars have become PS-5 flat cars.

There is a new version of the Great Northern Big Sky Blue bi-level livestock car in the catalog. The graphics are in a slightly different GN style. The floor of the 2008 car is metal. The new version must have a plastic floor and underframe. The new livestock car is listed as $5 less.

Probably the best one is the new Legacy cranes cars have a MSRP $499.99 for them in the new catalog. I went to look up the older MOW crane using the product search and there are all of the NEW Cranes with their product sheets and they have them listed as a MSRP $399.99 - a $100.00 difference. Someone is surely not doing their homework.

Thanks Allan, that is a nice addition for sure.
Paulp, we are trying to get a answer for you.

For that price, the better do. The previous VL had road # specific announcements judging from the you tube I have seen....
Watch the Lionel web site or ours on Monday 24th at 11:00 AM. Thank You
Went through the catalog. Funny, no information or pricing on the LCS modules or track reader.
Paulp,
The correct price on the Legacy Crane cars is $499.99. MSRP
The web site will be changed

Well, you could pull them with the Sou FM Train Master.

At the Lionel red carpet event Mike Regan did a seminar on all the LCS modules and there were a number of them. There are only three items on your web site. I would have thought that this catalog would have featured not only the LCS products but also the Legacy system and power options.
Oh well.
Charlie,
Any comment on why there are no 18" station sound cars when they have 15" ones? They have a lot of catching up to do.
Has anyone heard which pilot, (as built or modern) will appear on #4014?
Also, wlll the JLC smoke stack shade be included?
Joe

Beats me Lionel?
Thank you Charlie on the answer to the Legacy crane cars.
It's great to see that Lionel is finally making the Baby Madison cars with full interiors and flexible diaphragms, long overdue to having them now detailed.

I would be interested to know if Lionel still plans on making Station Sounds Cars for previous sets such as for the Southern and Blue Comment Heavyweight Passenger Cars from last year? I read on a posting from last year that Lionel was going to make them but no time frame was given. I thought they would have put them in this catalog if they were going to make them.

In a conversation with Mike Regan, prior to the red carpet event, he indicated Lionel was going to make station sounds cars but was not specific with respect to road name.

I agree, but then again we don't know what the future will bring. I would still order the cars if I were a Southern fan.
A Milwaukee Station Sound car also would have been nice since that set just came out not too long ago.
We just found some 18" SP daylight cars in the warehouse. I will get them on the web site shortly
The full color "page by page" catalog is up on our web site making it easier for you to check out Lionel's offerings next to our great discounted pricing! ----Adam VP of IT Development
I wonder if those are the final versions of the Conrail 86' Boxcars.
Andrew
I have a very small fleet of Lionel motive power and equipment on my roster, consisting of one Northern Pacific S-4, a repainted USRA 0-8-0 into NP, and two of the wonderful PS-4 flat cars. Lionel had pretty much been irrelevant to me.
This catalog, all I can say is WOW. Hats off to Lionel for investing in new boiler tooling for the USRA heavy mikado.
My favorite cab forward has always been the AC-12 with that huge square tender. I'd love to have one of those, but restricting my purchases to GN and NP is quite effective at limiting my expenditures to what I can actually afford.
I hope Lionel sells product out of this catalog like crazy. They sure earned the right to.
