So I bought a Lionel Classics 200 Trolley. Really nice looking but the single slider pick-up on the bottom really requires perfect trackage. I am running older original track and the trolley keeps jumping into neutral when crossing non-perfect joints. Forget about switches or crossovers. Wont even run across them. Anyone else have one and experiencing problems? Any solutions?

Don't have switches to worry about, but I've had no issues on my track.

I have the trolley as well, I have had issues with it running through MTH switches.
I had to remove a part of the switch that would hit the huge drive gear on the drive wheel. The single pickup also causes the trolley to lose contact going over switches. At slow speeds it may stall. So I tend to run it faster than I like.
Adding a second shoe may help a lot. But I have not spent time tinkering with it.

Well mine is going to be on an elevated point to point.. at least that's the plan for now. When the track is pushed together perfectly it runs fine. Forget the switches or the 20X crossover, it won't run over them. (But that does not matter because the elevated won't have those.) I think another pick-up will do the trick. Don't know if there is a good spot to mount it though. On the other hand, the darn thing is gorgeous.
Can you change the slider for a double roller?

Gonna check it out when i get some time. I do know that the slider is up front on the forward side, not centered. When I get a few moment for mechanical think, I will give it a going over. Good idea though.
My suggestion is to purchase some new SG track preferably from USA Track. My 200/201 trolleys run fine.

I may do that for the elevated loop or point to point. The good news is I bent the soldered wire that leads to the slider to a position tha puts more downforce on the slider itself. It seemed to make it run much better. Still no go on switches, but the regular track worked fine.
