Why should the Hi-Rail guys have all of the fun. What do you expect (or maybe hope) to see? I am thing 249E's and maybe O-Gauge Ives Cascade sets.

I'm relatively new in the Standard Gauge tinplate world. So I'd love to see re-issues of colorful 400E steamers that were last produced about 10 years ago... like GN, SP, and C&O. Those are tough to find nowadays.
Or better yet... I'd purchase a Standard Gauge Polar Express passenger train w/400E loco and state-sized passenger cars in a heartbeat!

I'd like to see
- PANAM boxcar
- NOMA Christmas boxcar
- a mid sized Christmas set maybe a 392 or 390 with red Girad cars
- a rexall train
- the cardinals passenger set
- o gauge circus train
- 200 series mint car or aquarium car
- two tone armored set
rat
#5 steam logos. (improbable)
Some nice 500 series rolling stock.

I don't remember seeing a white 400e. But I agree with David a std gauge Polar Express would seem to be a natural. Can't understand why they have not done it before.
I doubt you will see a PE in standard gauge, because despite the name, Lionel Corporation is still MTH and I am betting Lionel is going to keep that license very close to them
Here's a prediction: If the LCT catalog isn't forthcoming with some new -- and exciting stuff -- you'll see even more apathy regarding this once pretty interesting line-up. The last two -- three? -- catalogs have been totally blah.
And that's not just me grousing. Several dealers I know that were selling lots of tin are not happy with the last few line-ups.

While I do not know the terms of the deal, I think it's safe to say if it was not locked up tightly then MTH or some other would have made a run on it by now. It's probably Lionel's best money maker, especially among non-train people who just want a Christmas decoration
Probably not a caboose for one of these... But I can only hope.
I think it is time for another 390E. The Black one with the Orange Stripe would be nice & there is also a Red Stripe version that could be reproduced as well.
The #47 double crossing gate would be another nice repro to do.
I predict there WILL BE a 2015 LCT catalog.... This April!
I would guess the Piper in various colors

At the top of my list I would love to see LCT catalog their version of a Liberty Lines 600E (see photo below), ideally with PS3 in a Milwaukee Road paint scheme. Lacking that, I'd settle for a 392E, a Piper, or an 1134 with PS3 in a CHIPPEWA livery like the RichArt 1134 below that Dick Mayer custom painted for me. And for needed accessories, I would love to see LCT produce an all metal coaling tower and hoisting tipple like the ones Buddy L made but sized for Standard Gauge.

Wouldn't mind seeing a 390E or 394E in Reading green.
One day I'm going to amass a set of early (100 series?) freight cars. The original are so cheap and plentiful that i see no reason to reproduce them.
I don't know of any accessories that still need to be reproduced.
Have they done a Blue Comet in Nickel trim with Proto 3?
How about a purple and yellow 260E to go along with the gazillion MTH Tinplate Club cars I have bought over the years?
Scott Smith
Early Lionel tinplate.
10 series cars.
3930 Style Dorfan Crocodile. Preferably in Bonnie Blue to go with the cars I already have, then some Dorfan freights.
Steve
I predict there will be nothing that requires new tooling.

Which is where those colorful 400E's from the Western roadnames come into play so nicely for us Standard Gauge newbies.

For some reason I don't like Road Names on my tin plate. Kinda takes the toy like nature away. Just my opinion. For me toy like is what I admire the most. I would still like to see a white 400e. White goes with everything and I just like that big 400e chunk of iron.

I agree 100%...I don't buy tinplate in real road names.
Jeff Davis
Yep, add me to the list. I have zero tinplate with road names. Might consider a "Lionel Lines" but nothing else.
I also agree that none of my tinplate have any real road names. I think it just takes away from the simplistic nature of what tinplate started out as.
