I have a Lionel 6-18311 Disney EP-5.  It's a single motor unit with an electronic E-unit.  I'm thinking of adding a second motor.  Maybe TMCC and sound.   Can I replace the dummy truck with a motor truck ?  Does any know the replacement truck part number ?  If I add a second motor will the existing E-unit handle it ?

Or is ERR Cruise Commander best with the Railsounds EP-5 kit ?

Or is there a TMCC EP-5 that I can purchase used where I can just exchange the shell with no modification ?

I wanted to update the MPC-era Milwaukee EP-5 I had. I found a Post War Celebration NH EP-5 at a decent price, which already has TMCC, RailSounds, electrocouplers, etc., and swapped shells. Pullmor motor, so no cruise control; I haven't done it, but if you add the ERR AC commander, supposedly a Pullmor engine will run slower and smoother. As it is, for me it runs fine. If Lionel eventually makes the EP-5 in the LionChief line, that would make a great swapping candidate.

Thanks breezinup.  I saw the Celebration NH EP-5, 6-18319.   It looks like an option if the price is right.  Pullmor motor and TMCC.   Are the shells a direct replacement ?

There were several PWC EP-5s made, incidentally. The NH version just was the one I got a decent deal on so I got that. I am not where the engine is right now, and don't recall the details, but the shells are the same mold and a direct replacement. Primarily all that needs to be done is remove the TMCC antenna and glue it in the replacement shell when you swap the chassis.

I've done similar swaps with Lionel traditional F-3s and Geeps. Very easy (other than with RailSounds F-3 B units, which take some work to install the speaker in older B units).
