Hey Everybody:  Just sitting here pondering for a few moments on some modifications that I'd like to make on one of my Post-war f3's.  The Question (that I probably already know the answer for but would just like someone to confirm it) is if you take off a Lionel coupler, that is electronically controlled and replace it with a Kadee coupler, do you lose control capability or is there a way modify your Kadee for electronic uncoupling.

Yes. Kadee does NOT have anything even remotely resembling an "electro-coupler".

or is there a way modify your Kadee for electronic uncoupling.

I believe one or two guys have tried, but it sure appeared to be a MAJOR undertaking. In my opinion it would be easier to install the Kadee uncoupling magnates (there do offer those for 3-Rail applications) on your layout.
