I have a layout with mostly post war super 0 track. Is fastrak compatible with super 0?

While I'm not that familiar with Super O, Lionel makes a FasTrack to tubular transition piece, so I would imagine that you could make something work.

The only things common to Super O and Fastrack are gauge, 10" straights, and the 18" center rail radius of the O-36 curves(12 to a circle for Super O, 8 for Fastrack).
Stick with Super O if you like it. It's a lot cheaper, quieter, and can be custom bent to any desired radius.
I agree with ADCX Rob. You can make anything work with enough patience and effort, but this probably is not worth the trouble, but it is difficult to figure out what net benefits you'd really get.
Super O track was it's own unigue system from the late 1950's that only caught on a little bit, wasn't too popular back then.
There is No transition piece to go from Fastac to Super O directly, you would have to go to O tubular track first then maybe to Super O track. I have not worked with Super O but have seen it enough to know it's difference in track shape.
Maybe Gargraves or Ross Custom Switches makes some kind of adapter pins to go to Super O from their track, not sure if they do or not.

You need the Fast track transition to tubular track and then Super "O" transition pieces from tubular to Super "O". This way, you go from Fast track to tubular to Super "O". Get the Super "O" pieces from Mike Spanier, a member of the forum.
You need the Fast track transition to tubular track and then Super "O" transition pieces from tubular to Super "O"...
This will not account for the difference in the height of the two track systems.

True, so I would use a shimmy to make up the difference at the transition point.
