Did Lionel ever make a whistle tender to match the loco in the Great Lakes Express passenger set?

While it may be possible to replace the frame with a whistle tender or purchase a more recent whistle/sounds tender (despite looking different than the grey engine), such an item has not been made.
Thanks. May have to pick up a whistle shed.
I have this loco. The tender shell can be swapped with the 16673 Lionel Lines whistle tender, even though the 16673 is a different style tender. 16673 hasn't been made in a long time but they can be found quite easily. Only thing is, the 16673 tender has plastic trucks, not metal like the SSS set tender has.

No, the shells cannot be interchanged. The closest you are going to be able to find (?) is the chassis from the tender from the latest girls train set, 18346. The chassis has trainsounds that would fit a Great Lakes Express shell.
Chuck - Did this quite some time ago, details are a little fuzzy, no longer have the 16673 to test it with. As a test just now, I took a Lionel square type Boomingdales tender from around 1996 that has a air whistle. Tender width and length are exact match as the SSS set tender. the shells swap fine. Slight problem with the rectangular shaped plate that secures the air whistle motor to the 2 mounting studs. The rectangular plate is a little large an hits the top sides of the SSS tender shell. At the time I modified the plate or used a different workaround. Its a close fit, but it worked. Also just now I grabbed a China made square type tender and the shells don't swap, the China made tender is wider than the SSS shell.
Thanks everybody. Like I said, a whistle she’d appears to be the easy way out.
