Lionel Identification Guide for Lionel Electric Trains covers the "Post-war Era" only from 1945 until 1969.

It is great for a quick reference and I particularly like the section on tenders.

I checked out the tender section and it is great, complete and well done.  I have not explored the whole site as I just found it a day or so ago.  It is vast in scope.  Most of the accessories have color pictures and include operating instructions.  The car section is divided into types of rolling stock or cars and the list of each type has examples and links to each car.  There is a section on books on model trains.

Do not forget to click on the red numbers for each train item for more detailed information.
