I found it useful and informative.  It is not a complete as the book Guides to Lionel trains for 1945-1969 but it lists the numbers of each engine, car and accessory and the number is linked to more information, usually with a color picture and operating instructions.  The site would be handy on your cell phone for use at a train show to get more details on an item of interest.

I checked out the tender section and it is great, complete and well done.  I have not explored the whole site as I just found it a day or so ago.  It is vast in scope.  Most of the accessories have color pictures and include operating instructions.  The car section is divided into types of rolling stock or cars and the list of each type has examples and links to each car.  There is a section on books on model trains.

Do not forget to click on the red numbers for each train item for more detailed information.
