I have never made any repairs or upgrades to engines, I am ready to give it a shot.
Lionel # 6-28023 I had purchased used and have some questions regarding upgrade.
Currently it runs with Legacy cab-1 controller. It does not have speed control or slow start, smoke unit hardly "drifts" any smoke.
I purchased the engine for $200.00, I do like the whistle if I could invest another $100.00 in parts if it would be full Legacy operation.
I am not sure, but reading the manual about upgrades I think some are installed like operating hook.
Manual shows Railsounds upgrade kit 6-22963 for tender mount. I believe I have that, photos attached.
Next is Command Control upgrade # 6-22960 I am not sure if it is already installed? Please see photos.
When I use CAB-1 numeric keypad commands they all work.
I am looking for speed control and puffing fan driven smoke unit. Also sounds cut out on Fastrack switches.
Can I upgrade or just sell it as is for $200.00?
