I have a question about my 2-10-4 "Texas" Erie 3405 that I got from Lionel a few years back. I just changed the heating element for the blow down and smoke stack steam about a month ago and I also changed the fan and motor for the blow down steam as well. It worked perfectly fine for about a week or so until I was having problems again. I'm getting 4 blinks out of the cab which means "not applicable" according to the manual. What do you think the problem can be? IMG_0224IMG_0222

Four blinks is probably the secondary smoke unit.  Four blinks would be the heater, are you sure you used the right value resistor?

Due to the miracle of cut-n-paste, the manuals frequently have the wrong information, in this case, I suspect the secondary smoke unit blink codes were left off.  Here's one from my Y6b, the difference is you have blowdown smoke instead of whistle smoke.

Corrected manual entries.
