I just finished installing two LCS ACS2 modules on my layout to control my 6 switches. after wiring everything, all the switches but one is working properly. The one switch will open, but will not close. I rechecked the connections and everything seems right. all the other switches open and close fine. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?

My guess would that its something physical about the switch itself causing this issue, not any kind of software thing - this can be common if you're using fastrack switches.
Thanks for the replay, yes, I was thinking that as well, my switches are pretty old. They are fastrack, but older versions.
Since a pair of ASC2 will handle 8 switches and you only have six you have two open sets of switch drivers that are presently unused. Unhook the bad switch and transfer it to one of the open sets of terminals and see if it works OK there.

Simple to test, just short the GND to the Thru or Out and see if the switch properly changes the route. If so, it's probably the wiring or the ASC2. If it doesn't properly switch, than it's obviously the switch.
Ok, I moved the affected switch to one of the open drivers on the other ASC2 that had two open slots and it works fine now. I now have my six switches working fine , so I am not even going to question why it did not work on the other ASC2 unit. Thanks to all that provided guidance with my issue. You guys are great.

One last question,
Does anyone know if Lionel still support LCS? When I went on the Lionel website to try and find more information, there were links for information, but they did not lead to anywhere. So basically, there was no information.
I think you have a good question Scott! I was really excited when LCS was first announced. For a long time I've wanted to have the computer run one train, while I ran another. But since 2016, some of Lionel's decisions have sent mixed messages. For example, the sensor car sold out quickly, and as far as I know, was never reissued. Unobtainum. There were also a few special communications modules that were not catalogued, and could only be obtained by calling Lionel service. Given the chip shortages, who knows if they are still available? Discontinuing the CAB-2 with its record and playback features seems like a huge blow too. I don't want to run my trains with a phone, but for layout control an app might be OK. Does anyone know how well iCab integrates with LCS??
One thing that has been missing since the beginning is a killer demo. I've never seen anything posted by Lionel, or anyone here on the Forum that really showcases what LCS can do. Meanwhile, third parties like this guy on YouTube have gone in their own direction:
If someone really wants to roll up their sleeves, I guess JMRI (Java Model Railroad Interface) is an option. For my part, I hope Lionel continues with LCS and re-releases some of the hardware, but I'm not holding my breath.

Dave Olson stated that when the Base3 is launched a new LCS website will be part of that. I asked the same question about 2mos ago.
