Lionel Legacy c420. Any thoughts? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I am thinking about getting this engine soon. I had a birthday that just passed and I have enough money from presents and stuff to get a diesel. Any thoughts on the Lionel Alco C420? I was just thinking, I don't have an Alco type engine in my diesel roster. Alco engines have this growl and snarkle sound that EMD and GE engines don't have. Anyway, I would appreciate any thoughts you all may have. Have a wonderful and safe weekend, and Memorial Day observance.

Oh, I almost forgot, I am narrowing it down to either Nickle Plate Road or Seaboard.

It is a very nice model. Get the Seaboard unit as it is the most prototypical. NKP didn't have dynamic brakes. The Lionel model has great Alco sound, you will enjoy it.
