Hello friends,

I have two issues, one very small and the other no so with my Legacy NKP 765 that I  have encountered and seek your input.  The small issue is that over a short time, both builders plate have fallen off of the sides of the smoke box.  I assume that perhaps that, as careful as I am about smoke fluid, that the glue that was used has dissolved. Any suggestions on reattaching the plates properly?

The larger issue is that without notice the steam sounds have disappeared. The bell and whistle are fine and the smoke chuffs properly but without sound.  I surmise that the problem has something to do with the infrared signal to the tender.

The engine is of course rather new having just been released in the fall of last year and so is covered under warranty. Before I go that route, I thought I would run this past all of you to find what experiences you  have had with similar issues.

This is a great runner.  I did have the early issue with the front truck and my Berk came with the feed water heater laying in the bottom of the box with a stripped screw. These were easy repairs.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Peace.

I suspect that you have inadvertently turned down the background sounds to the point where only the whistle and bell and a few other sounds can be heard. When the engine is running:

blow the horn just to make sure your remote is talking to the locomotive and then:

press AUX1, then the 1 key/volume up button
press AUX1, then the 1 key/volume up button
press AUX1, then the 1 key/volume up button
press AUX1, then the 1 key/volume up button... etc. There are a total of 8 steps for the background sound volume.

Give that a try and let us know what happens.

Cheers,
Rudy

Press AUX 1 and then Volume UP.  This will raise the background sounds.  Page 14 in you manual explains raising over all volume (just volume up and down) vs background (AUX1 +volume up and down)

Well! No one ' fesed-up, but the Aux1 +l (vol up) eight times did the trick. I wonder if the stroke of a single key or a  quick short could have caused the background sounds to go silent. This occurred at the club layout while I was on the other side of the room but seemed to have happened immediately after someone put the engine on the track.  I know that it was just fine when I removed it from the track the day before...Oh Well! It works fine now. There are no less than ten to twelve other engines under power on the layout at any given time. Maybe my engine number was accidently hit and Aux 1 +9  shut me down but that seems unlikely. Thanks everyone. I'll try the Krazy Glue on the builders plate next.

Thanks Marty. I just noticed in my earlier response I mentioned Aux1+9. I meant  +4, causing the volume to lower.  I don't have Legacy on my little home layout so the manual is up at the club layout where I run my only two legacy engines and as yet I haven't taken the time to read all of it.  I am overwhelmed by everyone's help and support on this forum.
