Is the eagle a Southern Railway thing? A C&O thing?? These premium locos usually follow prototype practice. So if you know which locos had an eagle "in real life," even if it was just for excursion service like C&O 2716, those are the ones likely to have it on the model.
Yes - the Cheese Steam Special ran after the American Freedom Train finished it's run. The Reading 2101 engine was changed to AFT engine 1 pulling in the east coast. After that, it became the CSS 2101 in the livery I showed in the pictures celebrating the 150th anniversary of the B&O RR. After several years, she was caught in a roundhouse fire in Kentucky. After, she was made a static display at the B&O RR museum in Baltimore.
I'm into this engine because I saw her pulling the CSS in Chesterton, Indiana when I was a kid.
