Very interesting to see that the newly announced set has water vapor smoke. I hope it works well, and if it does the usage expands in future models. I’d prefer water vapor to the current oil based smoke.

I tend to think the water vapor effect will be only be used on the battery operated sets.
I completely missed that it was a battery operated set. Doh! Now water vapor smoke makes sense on that set.
I'm concerned about rust and electrical issues regarding water anywhere around model trains.
There was a conversation about water vapor (diffuser) for smoke awhile back on the forum. It came out that Lionel, did indeed, experiment with diffusers as a possible new smoke unit. They reported that it worked well but the side effect was that they got rust forming on the track from the moisture. They abandoned the idea due to the rust.
