Hey guys, not sure if this is the right sub forum, but I ordered a Lionel Mohawk #2797 which is one of the latest releases and I'm not sure if it will fit my curves.My track is a gargraves/ross mix of sectional 0-54 graves and 0-54 ross switches. I did have and issue in putting it all together that the way the gar graves track is measured is from the outer rail across the diameter not the center rail like most others. The GG 0-54 curves really come out to 52" at the center rail is this going to be an issue for the Mohawk with its 0-54 minimum or am I going to be ok? Anybody has any thoughts let me know!

You will be able to run it without any issues.  The minimum curve shown in the catalog is often an exaggeration.  For example, the Lionel Union Pacific FEF-3 4-8-4 was listed with a minimum curve of O-72 but easily runs through O-48.

Just rambling:

These questions - or this question, actually - gets asked frequently, here. At first I thought it was strange, because that's what it says on the box...but I had on those "my layout is 072" blinders. If you have 063 curves, and the new loco "should fit", but it turns out to be a $500 derailment, ouch. 

As indicated frequently, the diameter (not radius) indicated on the box tends toward conservatism, which makes sense, so often, there is a fudge factor. Not always, but, I believe, typically, especially in the die-cast world. The brass locos probably have more 2-rail DNA left in them, and I find that what they say is usually what they mean. Not much fudge.

FYI, the Lionel USRA 2-6-6-2 says 054, I think. I have 072, but a friend loves that loco, and we thought that one might tolerate his 042 curves, slowly...no way. Unh-unh. Into the weeds. We didn't investigate any finessing of the loco's trucks and clearances and such. He solved the articulated problem with a Lionmaster Clinchfield Challenger. Nice loco.
