Very pleased with these cars and caboose.
Will look great running under the tree this season.
Being late to the party on this set but still able to get preorder pricing your pictures let's me know that I made the right decision.

Wonder if they might continue the "Fezziwig Railway" series? I'm assuming these cars are just redecorated older players. What other cars might we expect if they continue? New tooling perhaps?
My guess passenger car wise would be of the Overton coach variety, if for no other reason than size. I know I have seen these freight cars in my various random searches but I have no catalog numbers and Olde Tyme searches render no results other than the current Fezziwig set. Perhaps a western themed set from years past?
If Lionel were to keep even remotely true to the Dickens era and the Dept 56 collectors there is not a whole lot that you can do other than simple freight and small passenger coaches is there? But then again.....
Maybe a gondola filled with figgy pudding vats?
Hot Rum Punch hot metal cars?
A Marley's ghost reefer car could do double duty with Halloween.
A Scrooge mint car?
Bob Crachet (?) hopper car filled with more coal for the stove?
A Vision Line poultry stock car with fat Christmas geese sounds.
Tiny Tim's bobber box car?

They could do allot with the ghosts of past, present and future and all the other characters in the book.

If Lionel is reading any of these posts maybe some variation of it will happen.
They could have a lot of fun with the concept if they chose to do so.
Also no licensing fees as the material is in the public domain.

Ouch.
The actual set looks far better than the catalog photos which IMO were dark while this set is technicolor as is fitting for the holiday.

Nice looking set.
I will admit I wasn't a huge fan of the freight cars in the catalog, but they look MUCH better in-person. Lionel did a great job with these cars, just ordered a set from Trainworld

Well so much for the Dickens origins of Fezziwig. That Santa Claus sounds like the voice track from those claymation cartoons from the 60's. And was Alvin and the chipmunks ever elves? Nothing wrong with it I suppose but a real British accent would have been better IMO.
The Alpine Horn or whatever instrument that is sounds appropriate.
But looks wise, a killer diller.

Not certain if this was the result of Lionel MTH tooling purchase or Lionel/MTH copying one another however I came across two MTH wooden tank cars 30-73121/73118 which are dead ringers for the Fezziwig tank car.
I am glad someone posted videos is there no Quotes from the movie?
Hey Guys, We got to get past Halloween first. 
I love my Hallow's Eve #1313 Camelback. Just can't beat the Werewolf howl for the whistle steam.

Agreed on the sound set--completely out of place for a Dickensonian backdropped set. I would have much rather heard Fezziwig himself--perhaps a quote from the story. But the French horn/Alpine horn with that major chord across the trilling lever on the CAB is spot on. Wish they would have extended that soundscape to the actual dialog.
I was also surprised that the boiler wasn't gold-ish in color, which the catalog seemed to suggest with a sheen on the curvature (see photo), but I still think the set looks good and I hope they continue to issue add-on cars in future catalogs. Would love to see a sound-enabled car of some sort with dialog from Fezziwig's party.
Come to think of it...Lionel has the Disney license...why not just sample dialog from the Jim Carrey/Zemeckis 2009 version of A Christmas Carol? Bob Hoskins did a great job as Fezziwig and there are a number of sound bytes that would work great for this train...

Yeah, I thought when I opened the box that there might’ve been a painting issue because the picture in the catalog certainly looks more golden and shiny than the flat cream color that’s on the boiler in reality. But no one really said anything other than on this forum and I figured maybe it was just an example of the catalog not quite matching reality. I do wonder if it’s possible to do an aftermarket paint job to make it more glossy gold in color.
