Has anyone bought Lionel’s North Pole Central Snowflake Unlimited (2022140)? If so, do you have any pictures to share?

i want to see this one too even though i can't afford legacy yet
That’s a beautiful set. If I didn’t already have 3 Christmas trains, I’d be in on this. I would be interested in just the caboose, or the entire set at a steal (e.g the set doesn’t sell well or a used set). If I had a large full time layout I’d probably have pre ordered it.
Charles Ro lists this set in stock at $899.99. I think production/sales numbers on this are/will be pretty low.
I will unbox later this week and upload some pictures. It has the latest Lionel Legacy B6 Scale locomotive. This is a limited production run of around 80 sets. A friend at my local train club pointed it out to me Christmas. I missed preordering since the set was in the back of the catalog and not with the Legacy offerings. It should do good service on my 4X8 layout with the minimum radius of O31.
Thanks SouthernFan56, I appreciate that. I was debating on buying that set but sometimes the catalog picture is totally different than the product.

With a cost with shipping pushing $1000 for this little set (that most will run for only a small part of the year), it's not surprising that sales numbers are low.

No one in this thread has mentioned sales figures for this set, good or bad. How did you come to this conclusion? Do you have actual sales figures to back this up?
M.H.M.
The value is the legacy steam locomotive is alone 650-700 plus cars about 50 or less. The plus for me is it will run on O31-O36 track. Let me put in perspective the only better small legacy steam locomotive is the new 10 wheeler for smaller layouts IMHO.

You might want to read the responses in this thread. Sales figures were DEFINATELY mentioned. Several posts up, SouthernFan56 said "This is a limited production run of around 80 sets."

I most certainly did. Unfortunately "around 80 sets produced" is NOT a sales figure. How many were made has very little to do with how many were sold, except in the case where all of them were, and we're probably not there yet.
I stand by my earlier statement. No one has mentioned how many have actually been sold.

Please read! The very post I responded to (and quoted!) mentioned low sales figures!
What you quoted says simply:
"I think production/sales numbers on this are/will be pretty low."
I don't see an actual figure, and for what it's worth also no facts supporting this claim.
Mike
Thanks for posting the pictures! I think it will make a nice early Father’s Day gift for myself.
I think this sales figure item is a non issue. My perspective if you like, find and afford one enjoy life. It is a hobby. I uploaded pictures so another hobbyist hopefully enjoy an offering.
I agree!
Are the cars true “O” scale or traditional size?
SouthernFan and RSturtzjr,
You've each said it much better than I could have. BTW -- That's precisely why I made the point about the sales figures: they're irrelevant. This is a VERY nice set.
Just buy what you like and enjoy it.
Thanks ...
Mike
O Scale Freight Cars.
Page 166-167 in the 2020 Lionel Catalog list as "O Scale." I doubled checked my posting.
While I'm not the biggest fan of the Christmas train products and think the colors are a little too gaudy for my taste, I do love the new B6 switchers, and that colorful set should make a pretty high quality set for the holiday season.
Having done numerous Christmas and Halloween layouts with multi level tracks and 4 trains running, I don't think the price is unreasonable. If you look at any other Holiday starter set, it is at least half of this set if not more, without Legacy.
My only beef with Christmas and Halloween sets are the figures in the locomotives. Heck, put Santa in the driver seat or the grim reaper or skeleton moving those trains out!

The price is about right, but I don’t need another Christmas set (I have 3, including the legacy gp35) unless it’s heavily discounted or used.

Agreed, I have too much already between Christmas and Halloween sets and locos. However, these were my only layouts previously. Now building a permanent layout so focus is on other buys.

I’m in the same boat. While I used to just run a decent sized under the tree layout, I started buying stuff for a small planned permanent layout. However, I am definitely still in the market for a scale detailed Christmas caboose.

Gee... given that paint scheme, why would "size" even matter? 😁
Mark in Oregon
Because I have mostly traditional size Christmas cars. And I was wandering if I should purchase the additional scale cars to go with it. If that’s ok?

Mike, you are critiquing the comment I made. It was simply my conjecture and opinion, thus it started with the words "I think." There are no supportive "facts" needed as it was not a "claim" of authenticity.

It would be easier to confirm seeing the cars out of the boxes.
However, there appears to be a scale milk car, scale stock car, scale 2 bay hopper and I believe I see a scale northeastern style caboose.
I would be curious to hear any special Christmas sounds the locomotive has, if any.
