Good morning, guys. Today I am posting my new video highlighting some older Lionel Northern Pacific F3's. One is painted in the "Freight scheme" and the other is painted in the "Passenger scheme".
Lionel issued an aluminum passenger car and a freight car set to match these locomotives back in the late 90's. However, originally, the passenger car set was issued with the freight car painted F3. Lionel corrected this oversight later in the year with the issue of F3's painted to match the passenger cars. They also offered a 4 car "freight set" to match the freight locomotive.
Lionel F3's at their best with the famous Pullmor motor. I hope you like the video.

In a way, I thought the pullmors almost more realistic.  They eased into a startup and cruised into a stop.  I had every TMCC GP7/9 made at one time.  And they all were great runners once broken in.  Was interesting to see the advances TMCC made from its inception with the NYC model to the last GP7 made, the mighty Rock Island.  That was a honey.

They actually made a add on dummy A unit for this set. But, I believe they produced very few. I found. One by accident at a show. A long time ago.
