Any advice on how to operate the Lionel Dump Car 3469 with Gargraves Track. I have the Gargraves #107 Remote Control Magnetic Uncoupling Section but it does not work to dump the car. It will uncouple, but not dump. They make a operating track section but it is pricey. Would the Atlas Accessory Rails work for dumping??? These are much less money and are more hidden. Am I on the right track here??

If you're looking for a cheap alternative, make your own out of scrap pieces of Gargrave…. Simply remove some ties, cut a slot , bend the ends of the rail as a ramp, solder a wire, and you're ready to go... Mine work great and I can locate anywhere I want.

BLBILLBOARDS,
HOW are these wired? Electrical is my weakness....
If you are going to make your own, be sure you get the placement correct on the cross-ties relative to the slide shoe to assure good electrical connectivity.
As for wiring, the control rail should be the same as your center rail since the outside rails supply the common for the unload switch circuit.
And, though you don't need to do this because of Clem's generous offer, you can also use the blades LIONEL made for use with Super "O" track that attached using the holes molded into the cross-ties of that track system. Just duplicate those holes and use the blades to be good to go.
WOW! How do you know all of this?? Amazing!
Clem is awesome!

Wiring is determined by the particular car you are operating. In the case of the 3469, it has two shoes on opposite sides of the car. One would be connected to the outside rails, the other through a switch to your accessory power. (could be track power if you like, but commonly is an accessory transformer).
Again, remember each type of car may be connectded differently.
