- During the last 70 years or so Lionel has been my favorite. Through the years I have had a real nice collection and now that the trains are being issued with the old numbers I have to wonder. For example I have had at least six or seven Jersey Central FM's and several years ago I got rid of them in trades or whatever. It is one of my favorites so I was going to buy another one but I'm thinking why spend several thousand dollars when I can get a real Lionel issued new one with the original numbers? I did go ahead and buy one about three or four years ago and it is great. To me it is just a mindset and I honestly feel it is real because it comes from Lionel and just reissued. Maybe this sounds stupid to you but what do you think as I am very curious? By the way, I do still have several original new or like new post war engines and they are also fantastic.
