What err board would be needed to add cruise control and how easy would it be to install?

No wire nuts involved unless maybe you have an Odyssey equipped unit. To install the CCM to replace the DCDR for a modular TMCC, it's bolt it in, plug in the two plugs, and run the single wire to pin 24 of the R2LC socket.
Its an Odyssey engine John. The wires from the 6 pin molex on the DCDS get connected to the 4 pin molex on the Cruise M.

Guys, FYI this engine does not have oddessy. It is just tmcc with rs2. it is can motored with fly wheel. Does this engines board setup just require a err ccm? I have found a mp rs11 used in new condition. If I purchase the engine I want to add cruise. I was asking the question to figure in the cost of the board just To get a sense of what the final cost for the engine would be with the upgrade added. This may alter my decision and also help me not to over pay it. If I do decide to get it I also wanted to asked so as to know witch err board to order. If I do decided to get the engine I will definitely get intouch will you bill about ordering and installing the board. Thanks for the replies guys!
If this is actually a 6-28522 then it came with Odyssey from the factory? Has someone swapped out the electronics?

Norton, I hope you are right. Only the description on the engines box with list of features and on lionels web sight for the missouri pacific rs11 6-28522. States there is no oddssey. Did lionel add it later? The shell in your parts list is the southern pacific. Just asking.
Norton, I just down loaded the pdf instruction manual for this engine off the lionel sight. It does state it has oddssey. Strange as the box features list do not mention oddssey and neither do the engines features list on lionels web site. Wounder witch is right? Do you own on off these mp rs11 to conferm this?
Lionel Service would use a one engine in their parts diagrams. Even though the shell In the blowup might be different, if you clicked on the item number (47) it would show the correct MP shell.
You can download the owners manual from the Lionel website. Go to resources and type in the item number. It also shows it has Odyssey.

So either this is not a 28522 or someone has changed something.
I have a NYC RS11 from the same era and it does have Odyssey. Mine works OK and I have not had to install a cruise M to make it run right. That is not always the case as these are prone to breaking magnets but that is a different question. I don't think Lionel made RS11s prior to Odyssey.

Thanks norton and nicole. The manual does show oddssey also.
FWIW when I buy a used early Odyssey engine I assume I might have to correct for a broken magnet and budget accordingly unless I am assured by the PO that everything works as it should.

If the DCDR has a four-wire black plug, it doesn't have Odyssey. Also, as mentioned above, if this is Odyssey, it's easy to check. One motor will have a flywheel magnet on the flywheel and a sensor PCB under the flywheel with a connection to the motor driver board.
