So it’s seems that the wiring is okay. And to make sure I was going about things correctly I touched a resistor out of my supply of 8 ohm to the poles of the one in there and it instantly became hot. I guess it did die. So I’ll order a few of the OEM resistors and see what happens. Thanks guys, as always you waste eager to help.

I ordered late Saturday and the process was very easy. If you have the part or product numbers there should be no problem unless the part is out of stock. I did not expect to have the orders ship so quickly Greg, that is good news!

One way LIONEL avoids that situation is that the number of pieces in your cart "relieves" the inventory the computer has for that part.  If your quantity exceeds what the computer believes it has on hand, that quantity will not be accepted for your cart.

This happened to me when I was working on my order and attempted to enter "10" pieces for a P/N and the computer would not allow me to do so; rec'd message that it exceeded the stock on hand.  So, I lowered the number until that was accepted by the computer.

My order went in Saturday afternoon, so I'll check tomorrow on its status in My Lionel.

If you have a "My Lionel" account on their website you can get a printout of your parts order. Go to it; click "service;" in the next screen click "Part Order History;" in the next screen you should see your current order; click on the "view details" tab for that order; and, you should see a list of your ordered parts on the next screen.

You'll see a "Print" icon in the upper right of your part order list--click on it and get your parts list printout.  I just did it (for my order of course) and it worked.

Good luck.

Thanks Carl for clueing me in to get the parts for the GP7 last evening.

I've hunted around many times to find where to print an order.

Shocked to find that the credit hold for my LIONEL parts order had been removed from the card I used sometime last night/early this morning--had my order been cancelled/dropped???

Checked "My LIONEL" account and it showed status as "Processing."  That made me feel a little better.

But I phoned LIONEL and got a call back within 10 minutes.  The pleasant lady put me on hold to check my order out and it was being pulled as we spoke.  Apparently, the credit hold was removed while the parts are being pulled and the charge will go on when the order is prepped for shipping.

Anyone else have this experience with your parts order.  I've never noticed this hold; release hold; and, charge process on any prior internet orders I've placed.

Mark, always a pleasure to help on OGR Forum.

Well just checked the Lionel site and it looks like my parts are shipping out.  Pretty easy to find the tracking info and what's really useful is my parts order history.  If you are wondering about your parts order, log into the "My Lionel" under the support site and then go to the service section and it's all right there.  I blurred my history but the top items shipped yesterday!

Go to My Lionel under the service section of the main site and log in.

Go to "Service" once logged in on this page.

Look at the "Parts Order History"!

And Shazam!  There is the history and tracking numbers for all of your orders including the one's you did during the sale!

Well maybe it’s because I created an account. This way I don’t have to guess when my parts are shipping. If you don’t have an account I guess you can’t get this information.

I can look at all my parts orders and what I have received in the past orders. See my warranty VL engines. It’s a nice way of keeping track since Lionel doesn’t send any shipping notifications. With the tracking numbers here I can see what the status of my order is.

Ok, thanks Marty.  I've emailed them for confirmation of my order.

I just looked on a big boy computer.  Creating an account lets you store your shipping and billing information but not my credit card info but it's not required to place an order.  Basically it makes checking out faster as well as giving me the ability to see what the status is of my order so I'm not wondering where it is.

I don't have a Lionel account.  My procedure is to check my credit card charges online after placing my Lionel order.  The order will show up as a "pending charge."  When that changes to an actual charge, it means Lionel has filled my order.  Comparing the pending and actual amounts also lets me know if I'll be receiving everything I ordered.  My USPS Informed Delivery tells me when the package is due.  This year I ordered at 1:30 a.m. on Friday, my pending charge changed to actual on Saturday and I received the package on Monday.

Just checked the "My Lionel" page, mine will be delivered Monday as well.  Not bad considering.

I guess I'll be calling Lionel on Monday to complain that my parts arrived 3 days early.  Everything showed up before noon.

Seriously though thanks again Lionel for another great sale.  Hopefully next year we'll see you at the warehouse sale!

Order arrived here in Chicago today. Not sure why some people are having problems and others are not.

Charlie

I'm not sure they are having problems as much as they can't see where in the process their parts are.  For years the site says it will send an email with the information but for years never has.  That's why I recommend signing into the "My Lionel".  That way you can do all the tracking on line.

Earlier today my order status on "My LIONEL" account went from "Processing" to "Shipped" with a USPS tracking number supplied.  This was a relief since I'd placed my order on Friday, the 6th and was wondering why it would take so long to pick and ship the parts.

The order status must have changed while I was on a call to LIONEL.  I was on hold for a bit, but finally spoke to a tech who looked up my order and he informed me that the parts would ship today--what a relief.  I'd called because my order status still showed "Processing" this morning, and several of the ordered quantities had changed.

Thanks to LIONEL for another great parts sale.

Next year, hopefully, the Warehouse Sale will be bacl and I can make that trip.

Could someone please tell me what number and extension to call at Lionel about a wrong part being shipped?  I've tried calling and left a message, calling a and transferred to a full VM mailbox (twice) and emailed with no response.

Thanks

I've been calling for days now over missing items in my order.  NO one is picking up and I'm getting very upsete.

What the heck is going on Lionel,  There's the word Service in customer service which isn't going on right now.

Yesterday I called 1.800.454.6635.  Curiously, the voice directory eventually told me to call that number if I wanted "parts" after giving me various extension alternatives.

So, I stayed on the line and a nice young lady answered; I told her I was calling about my parts order; she put me on hold; and, a tech picked-up after a wait and helped me by tracking down my order on his computer to tell me it was complete and shipping today.

This was done about 9:30 yesterday morning.  USPS tracking tells me my package left NC last night and to expect delivery Friday.

Don't know if LIONEL has a special number for dealing with wrong parts or omitted parts from orders.

You are lucky.

I've been told they only have two people manning the phones.  While I don't blame the grunts in the trenches I will blame upper management for the lack of support they are getting.

Yes, no emails, but logging in, I see my order shipped today!

Good for you, Mark.

And I guess I have been lucky calling Lionel.  Today was my third call since I placed my order on the 6th and each time I had a responsive person help me, albeit the info they supplied may have been inaccurate since I was told my order was being picked last week.
