Lionel Shark Problems

I don't think this is a problem that you'll want to address, send them back.  Note that Lionel offers free shipping both ways for veterans for warranty repairs, just in case that applies to you.

Just a thought, I had this problem with my Legacy Geep, the engine ran great for a few days, then it would just sit there and the sounds would rev up, but no movement.  Other times, it just launched down the track a full speed with no throttle response.  I took the shell off (not as easy as one would think) and discovered the flywheel on the forward motor (the one with the sensor on it for the speed control) was loose.  I could spin it separately from the motor.  It turns out there are two VERY small set screws that hold the flywheel on the motor shaft.  I had to tighten these up, and now it runs fine.

 

Just one possibility.

 

I am just sick and tired of almost 90% of every new Lionel product I buy, having some manufacturing defect or fault.  It seems that lately Lionel has had some poor quality control.  Warranty or not, it is a pain to have to return things to Lionel constantly.

I know me too. I sent a lionel mikado back last year for antenna problems. Ive already sent the shark back. I just want it taken care of. Im rebuilding my layout so I cant run any trains thank god
