All the SP GS class locomotives have "smoke lifters". That is what those two small ribs of sheet metal located either side of the stack, on top of the skyline casing. They did NOT have the huge "elephant ears" like UP and NYC used.

The Western Pacific added the "elephant ears" to theirs.

I disagree.  If you don't pre-order you may miss that item you really want!  I nearly missed the Lionel Pere Marquette Berkshire by not placing a pre-order.

I also agree with you Charlie. I would hate to miss out on something that I really wanted. And for the most part I have happy with what I have received. Of course I have had a few problems with some items but they have been taken care quickly either by the dealer or Lionel CS with no problems. So I'll keep pre-ordering what I like and want.

That could happen.  To that I would say that is exactly why it is imperative that the manufacturers get the images correct in their catalogs.  If they want to get as many reservations as possible and thus sell as many units as possible this is a must.  Clearly as voiced by some here they are not getting all that they could because of this.
