I am rebuilding a few Super Motors. Can the postwar 622 motor brush be used in place of the 17 motor brush? They look close diameter and length. 622 is carbon looking. Also, what's the best method of replacing the brush holder into the frame, around the armature's commutator. Thanks, Dan

Dan, the 622 will work. I think you will find all of the motor brushes are made of carbon. Easier on the commutators, but do not last as long as the original copper brushes. Not sure what your question is regarding the brush holder. Harry 
Thanks Harry, My question with the brush holder on the super motor is. Once you remove the 2 screws holding it in you can slide the brush holder out the bottom. What is the best way to reassemble. I had to replace the wires going to the brushes. Now how to hold the brushes apart again the springs to slide the holder back in. I figured since it was made to drop out the bottom it would be easy to put back.
