Does anyone think Lionel will ever make the older Legacy engines compatible with the new Wi-Fi Bluetooth phone app?  I am sure someone may have already asked this.  I am not even sure if it is even feasible.  Also any thoughts on the new catalog?  I was hoping to see some new accessories or at least bring a few back.  The train table on the last page is interesting.

I doubt it, especially since many of the early legacy locomotives have already been "rereleased" with bluetooth.

The option would be to upgrade to the newer model. FWIW, the app has nowhere near the speed control or feature capabilities so you really aren't missing out on much.

Rick, like you, I like the Legacy remote.  But, I've always assumed at some point it will go away due to component obsolescence.  When it does, the app will be king - software is cheaper than hardware.  If that happens, a Bluetooth bridge to Legacy would be a nice device to have so that all of our non-Bluetooth Legacy engines can still be operated.  In fact, such a bridge would be nice to have now so we could get started fiddling with the app (which I assume will only get better and more feature packed over time).
