Turned my train command system on last night and no response. Put new batteries in CAB1 still nothing. I tried two different engines and niether one responded. The green light on the base unit lights up and the red light blinks when i try to bring the engine to life. I don't have multiple engine numbers assigned since I only run one train command engine at a time. I can hear a clicking sound in the hand held when I press a button but no response. Any ideas why?

If the light on the base is flashing when you press keys, the CAB1 is probably working.
Did you double-check the wire from the base to the outside rails? That must be connected for things to work.
Do the lights come on the locomotive? If you briefly interrupt track power, does the locomotive take off in conventional mode?
The engine lights up. Every thing appears to be normal.
Does it attempt to run in conventional mode? Can you run it in conventional mode with the command base turned off?
The engine runs just fine in conventional model. I just noticed the red light on the base does not blink when I press the engine button to address the engine.
I don't have a TMCC command base out, I'm running the Legacy now. I believe the light only blinks when you send an actual command, addressing the loco just tells the base that which address you're about to communicate with. If you see the red light flashing for throttle commands and the like, I suspect the CAB1 is working.
I would check your connection from command base to track. It may have worked loose.
I climbed under my layout to look. The cab1 red light doesn't blink when you press the top row of keys (sw to eng) or the numbers. It responds to all other buttons including the red one. I suspect you got a string loose
YOUR ENGINE IS NOT RECEIVING A SIGNAL FROM THE COMMAND BASE CHECK YOUR ANTENNA ON ENGINE ALSO MAKE SURE YOUR ENGINE IS IN RUN MODE SWITCH UNDER ENGINE
