I came to this party a little late. But my philosophy is: "I NEVER live with it". I do it again until I am happy with it. And I am not afraid of do-overs. Or even multiple do-overs. You may even learn a new technique.
Example: This is my the third iteration on this building. I have redone the mortar and brickwork four times, and the windows three times. I am still not satisfied. It's headed for another do-over
On the other hand, I got the brickwork, mortar, windows and interior lighting spot on to my liking the very first time on this one:

(Don't worry, I straightened out the right hand exhaust pipe before the building got on the layout!)
