Trying to identify locomotives that have 4 pickup rollers as opposed to 2. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Looking for powerful engine to pull 20 - 25 cars at ceiling height with minimal problems if that is possible. THANK-YOU!

Bob,
You're in luck with this one. Most any engine be it steam or diesel can have additional rollers added. In most cases without many modifications.

You can add power if needed. This (5) unit consist does 16 cars on 3.8% grades.
The Atlas GP7 and the (4) Atlas SW9s have (4) pick-up rollers per unit. Click on the triangle for a video.
Mike,
Very nice!

My MTH Railing Scale SW1 will easily pull 20-30 cars, has cruise control and 4 rollers (was just cleaning them earlier today). I've never had any issues with mine. In fact, it was the only engine I bought used - it was the "showroom model" on my LHS's layout. In the year or so they had it running on their layout, they also reported it was one of the better running pieces they'd seen in a long time.
Thank-you! Looking for actual item numbers for engines with 4 pickup rollers and that are good strong pullers.
