Hi all,

I'm looking to see if anyone can tell me the output rating on the Base 1L power supply? From an ebay auction slightly blurred photo, it looks like an aftermarket wall wart at 9VAC 500ma.

Can anyone read the back of theirs to tell me what it says?

Thanks!

Lionel replaced the original Base1-L transformer with the same one as the 990 base transformer because of signal issues.  So the Transformer with have TMCC 2 on the label like the picture above.  They are also available from Lionel parts.  The original Base 1 transformer is totally different and not interchangeable.

The original BASE1L power brick is 9VAC at 500ma. This brick came with mine when I bought it a few years ago NIB.

Lionel doesn't have any more of these, so they ship the Legacy base power brick that is much larger and higher current, but still 9VAC.

Those were the 1st original ones, but Lionel replaced a lot of them when people had signal’s issues with the originals (something with the grounding) so now they use the 990 transformer which was the fix or replacements.   I  was one of the original owners and that info was direct from Lionel.  So you could see either.

Odd, I had no issues at all with the BASE1L, and it only draws a couple hundred milliamps, near nearly what the 500ma brick puts out.

Actually after looking back through the post, I'm a bit confused. It doesn't matter whether I use an 8v or 9v power supply? The first image up top is 8vac at 2 amp or 16 watts. Then the one you show after is 9vac and 500ma? Very different bricks!
