One year ago today, a dear friend and LCCA Honorary President Infinity, Lou Caponi passed away due to complications from diabetes. Please keep Lou, his wife Rose and son Dom in your thoughts and prayers. Lou’s spirit and source of inspiration continues to live in our hearts and minds.

During the LCCA’s 44th Annual Convention held July 20-26 at the Marriott East Hotel in Indianapolis IN, LCCA Director Roger Farkash unveiled the “Lou Caponi Memorial” modular Railroad Section. TW TrainWorx of Dallas TX designed and built two Lionel/LCCA FasTrack Modular Railroad sections in honor of Lou. In addition to Lou’s love for the LCCA and the Junior Membership program, Lou was also a hot rod car enthusiasts and owner of Loco Louie’s Train Store. These modular sections are intended to celebrate Lou’s life and interests. This is in keeping with Lou’s request to have Roger build a LCCA/Lionel FasTrack Modular Railroad Section for him and a way to continue to spread the joy and magic of Lionel trains. Thank you Roger!

If you are so inclined, building a LCCA/Lionel Modular RR section in honor of a loved one may be of interest to you. For me personally, my toy train layout at home is a memorial to my father. My father passed away suddenly and unexpectedly just before my first son was born. My layout serves a connection between my father, me and my children. You may want to consider building your own memorial to celebrate the life of a loved one as part of a LCCA/ Lionel FasTrack Modular Railroad layout. This is a personal choice and not intended to offend anyone. My Lionel train layout memorial to my father helped me get through the grieving process and deal with the loss of my father and mentor Alfonse A. Kolis

Respectfully, Lou’s brother from another mother.

Yes.  That reminds me of a humorous   story.   Lou was in an elevator at a large hotel in NYC, and this women insisted he was "the Goose". Lou really tried to convince her that he wasn't, but she insisted upon taking her photo with him.  He reluctantly agreed after he couldn't convince her otherwise.  He did not have the heart to tell her no to being photographed.    To this day, this lady has a photo of Louie and telling everyone it is with Tony Siragusa.
