I have the updated app on my iPhone but have not purchased the Premium upgrade yet. However, I noticed all kinds of features in the Standard app that were not there before, such as Track controls. Do these work in the Standard app without buying Premium, or are they teaser controls that will tell you to buy the Premium app when you try them? I am not connected to my WIU, so I have no idea right now.

Thanks!

George

In fairness to Google, the issue was shared.  Believe it or not, today, Google decided to revise their app distribution system.  We got caught in some of those changes and didn't "check all the boxes" we needed to check.

The issue is resolved and the DCS Premium app is available for upgrade or purchase on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Enjoy!!

I am having the same result as Bob D, above:

"When I go to the Wi-Fi DCS  "upgrades" tab in the Android app, the premium version is not listed. It shows that I purchased the standard version but no links for the Premium. Anyone else having this issue?"

Make sure you are updated to latest version otherwise it doesn't show up. Find the app in the play store and see if it says "update" and if so do the update and check again if you can upgrade to the premium.

Matt,

I updated my existing App to the latest version, but can find no option for the new Premium App.  Probably something simple that I am doing wrong, but I cannot figure it out sir.

RAK

Open the App, push "Run My Trains" to get to the main screen and find the "More" button at the bottom of the screen.

App1

Push it which should bring you to this screen...

App2

Push the upgrade and it will take you to the option of the upgrade...

App3

It will check for the upgrade and list it.  Since I already upgraded nothing was available.

My iphone this morning is saying "a new version of wi-fi dcs is available. Please update to version 2.0.0."  Is anyone else seeing this?

If I upload the premium app but have not yet updated the dcs from version 5 to version 6, will I still be able to run trains through my phone?  If not I will simply wait until I can get the dcs upgrades accomplished.

Good question. Your best bet would be to hold off until you've upgraded to DCS 6.0. Unless you plan to upgrade to the Premium version, all the new app gets you in the Standard version is a couple of minor bug fixes.

DCS firmware ver 6.0 is required to run the premium DCS app.  It also supports some improvements from the standard app.

So, stated simply, update your DCS system to 6.0 regardless of which app version you prefer.

Dave,

How does one bring a lashup out of the inactive list with the app?

As follows:

  • Ensure that all members are on powered tracks.
  • Navigate to the Engine Roster Screen
  • Tap Edit
  • Use the slider on the right of the lashup to move in to the Active Engine List
  • Tap Done.

 From “The DCS WiFi Companion!"

Coming soon!

Thanks Barry.

It seems there is no max speed setting for lashups.

I noticed on the email MTH sent out today that, if the DCS handheld is updated to 6.0, the only way a user can enjoy TMCC/Legacy functionality is through the app. I have used DCS handhelds running version 2.4 on a TIU running 4.2 before. Can I still use a DCS handheld with version 4.2 or 5.0 software to run engines via TMCC if the TIU is running 6.0?

RJR,

Thank you for the assistance sir!  That did it-it now says "v2.0.0 build 37,  copyright 2015 Mike's Train House, Inc. All rights reserved."

I am a neophyte when it comes to the App Store, installing apps, etc.  I would never have found that without your help.

I am, by the way, in the process of re-building the Super O layout that my father built for me for Christmas of 1960.  Tomorrow is the day I will be re-wiring for DCS, so the timing of the release of the latest DCS Wifi App is time perfectly.

Thank you again sir.

I was today testing the new MTH App (full app) with 2 different TIUs. The App is loaded on both my iPhone and my iPadAir 2.

Both are similarly connected to a single 40 inches stretch of track and were intended to control the same engine.

Both TIUs have DCS version 6.0 and the WIU had its firmware updated.

For an unknown reason, both are recognized by the tablet and phone but one of them gives me constant time outs on the refresh command so I cannot add an engine to control it.

The other TIU works fine with both the iPhone and iPad.

This happens repeatedly.

Any ideas please on where to look?

Thank you very much.

Are your two TIU configured on different address numbers ?
