Good grief! You mean that you have never heard of the famous "March Meet"? It has been held in the Chicago area for well over 30 years. Generally referred to as "The Chicago O Scale, March Meet".

Hate to miss this.. or any.. o scale show. I need about 30 Keilline circular window frames...if there was a local shop, they would not stock them .

Thanks for the posted pictures, green with envy, wanted to attend but alas not in the cards for me this year money and health wise.  Very glad the tables are full. Looks great!!

Hope this one works for the new team running it,  I intend to be there next year if...

Good show, even without some of the major vendors, like Sunset 3rd Rail and Norm Pullen. Almost like old times.  Brass prices were very reasonable.......OMI Little Joe electrics (2) - $1200 each.  Went back to snag one but gobbled up!  Sunset 3rd Rail D&RGW L131 - $1250/1300 - gobbled up, again!

I purchased the above pictured Protocraft C&NW 50' express boxcar - quite nice. And enjoyed seeing George Podras' scratchbuilt Rock Island R67 4-8-4, displayed in the contest.  He received a phenomenal offer for it.  Sunset 3rd Rail - - - hint, hint, Rock Island 4-8-4!

Having built one of those, I would love to see a photo of the Rock Island Northern.

^  I've had money tied up for 7 years - he produces nothing , but keeps taking deposits . Keeps announcing new projects , but can't deliver the first . Looks more like a Ponzi scheme than a business .

Sunset / 3rd Rail was at the show but not represented by Scott Mann or me. This was the first show I have missed in 30 years for Sunset.  Jonathan Peiffer was there representing Sunset / 3rd Rail.

Though I'm a 3 railer my wife and I enjoyed the show. I bought several pieces of truckles rolling stock, some building detail items, a nice forklift and Herbie. The vendors were all nice, prices good and lots to choose from in all price ranges. We also had a great lunch at Harry Caray's Restaurant which is attached to the hotel.

After talking with people in the brass business, other businesses and my current frustrations with the supply chain I can't get mad at anyone for long delays in delivery seeing I have one supplier who can't find my molds and another can't get the resin to extrude my roofs.  I asked one brass importer was he going to get any more of his product from Korea and the response was "NO it's almost impossible to get anything out of Korea and not worth the trouble."   People need to understand that the big customers will always come first while the little manufactures will be at the end of the list.

As far as Midwestern Models I have complete confidence I will see my N&W SD-45 in the Bicentennial paint scheme and it will be outstanding.  I know we are experiencing a long wait but after he changed manufactures and was moving forward Covid hit.  Trying to coordinate a brass diesel with brass castings, etchings, electronics, drive systems, paint and other things is a lot bigger challenge than producing a car from one factory.  Erik does have pictures of the coal gondolas being assembled at the factory so that project is moving forward at a good pace.  The pictures of the lumber car sample model are fantastic.  We didn't have time to talk about the SD-45s as I had to fly out Saturday when the show closed for the night.  I checked with Erik near the end of the day and he only had one person question him about the SD-45s,  walking up as the conversation was ending the buyer appeared to be OK with the information that was shared with him.   My only financial stake in Midwestern is the deposit money I paid so I'm sitting there along with everyone else drooling to get my SD-45.  Please don't compare Midwestern to the "other guy" as they are two separate companies and completely different people.

Thank you very much Brad and crew for the wonderful show great time was had by all.

It was great to see so many people had a great time hosting an open house found some new trickets for the collection.

Let's do it again next year !! Please

Who had the N&W Virginia Polytechnic Institute S-1 sleeper? Did it sell?

I had a great time seeing old friends and meeting new ones at the 2022 March Meet. The Rockford O Scalers open house seemed to be a success.  16 people signed the guest registry on Saturday night and 57 signed it Sunday.  Smiles were frequent during the open house.  The trains ran good with only a couple of electrical issues (2 loose rail joiners have been soldered) and one derailment.   Not bad for almost 11 hours of running!

Attached is the only picture I took during the meet and it may be a bit blurry, but these two people (with the help of several others) made the 2022 March Meet another great event.  Thank you Brad and company!  Already looking forward to the 2023 March Meet.

The engine at the show is a Scale Model Railways ...NYC Mikado,..

Both have the operating Reversing linkage,..both came from the layout...( along with a NYC Pacific ) ... all acquired from the original owners estate .

I was wondering if it followed you home, Carey...   Amazing that the valve gear position actually controls the direction of the locomotive and doesn't move just for looks.

When I left a deal was being talked about.  It appears to be a Mac Shops 10-6.  Where the VPI lettering is on the N&W cars that space was flat with no flutes or scribes while this one has two scribes thru that space.  You can see where the Budd car is flat between the flute under the window and the yellow stripe near the bottom of the car.  As far as I know N&W only did this.

Had to display it on something, and that was most likely a handy box.

Atlas is doing unpainted brass now 🤭

It was plenty large enough, especially since we all discovered that there really was no "Magnolia B" (after walking all over that big long hallway)! The "OGR Meet and Greet" was actually in "Magnolia A", and only about 10 or 12 of us were there. It was fun, and nice to put faces to many of the OGR posters.

Thanks for the excellent photos - you have an eye for catching difficult shots and making them look good.

At risk of repeating your photo (hope you don't mind) I captured this one - these two look from here like exquisite scratch builds, but I suppose they could be Beaver Creek or something I am not totally familiar with.  They are not USH - some aspects may point in that direction - but it looks like the models are more accurate, and USH never made an SP Mike.

I would love to have some further information on this pair - it looks like they were in the contest area.

Question: who created this scale Erie tug and railfloat?
were there other photos of it taken? Was this a model contest entry? Who built them?
I dabble in rail marine themes. Would like to know more about the models.
