Hello. On some of the MARX tinplate steam engines, there are two "scoops" on the boiler by the headlight. 
You can see the missing part in this photo. Can someone please tell me the correct term for this part, and where I might look for replacements? Thanks

They are marker lights, that are either chrome or black. On the inside of the engine shell there should be green plastic cellophane held in place by the marker light tabs.

Thanks Brian. I'll search around for someone that sells MARX parts and try to find "marker lights".
Some early reproductions were made of plastic, but they were too thick to fit well and look correct.
Robert Grossman company used to have all the Marx parts.

Good luck. It's rare for a Marx engine not to run after cleaning the brushes and commutator.
There is also a felt piece that goes between the brush tubes and holds oil for the armature bearing. Grossman should have those, too.
