I find these interesting; do any of you have operating experiences to share or should I consider the non operating version from atlas...

I have both. They are two different cars. The Atlas car is a scale model of a prototype woodside reefer decorated for Mathieson. The MTH operating car is a generic steelside reefer with a Mathieson logo - I have no idea if it relates to a prototype Mathieson car or not. I've never operated mine (layout is still under construction) but I understand from others that they work fine.
I would imagine the Yoder model is closer to prototype...

For $339, I should hope so. That is a totally unique car, unlike anything the Lionel, MTH, etc. have ever made. It's available in 2-rail only. I'd love to get one, but a bit hesitant to spend that kind of money on one freight car.
Thanks for mentioning it, I didn't know Yoder was making it.
SW---agreed, when would you ever see this as its so obscure!
Part of me wants to get a couple because the WOW factor is just too much! But, its like my loco budget in a brass car... Well, i guess its also like wine, and brass is like burgundy...
