Hey Bob and Paul thanks for replying to me.  Do any other "Westies" still post or read here?  In particular, Mr. Smith?  Any plans for York?  I guess I am a transplant now, Bob, don't really live too far from you.

For folks who don't know me, here is a brief bio.  I have been a member of this forum since before some of you were born  .  In the past I did work for 3 of the major train companies, besides much independent testing of products and formal feedback .  I found Atlas track to be the quietist track (by scientific testing) of current offerings long before Atlas began advertising it.  I have developed a TMCC command structure compatible remote control system that was direct train to CAB Don, and CAB Don to train communication.  Ditto for accessories.  Someone who liked my ideas even went so far as to prototype it.  I'll sell you one for $20,000.

Personally knew the first Clyde Coil, a hangover from Gary Moreau days, and also know Coil Couplers, the second incarnation of that pseudonym.

Started the TMCC Demo group which flourished until the current Lionel president came along.  According to one Lionel President, we were responsible for quadrupling sales of a slow to be accepted command control system.

I am very handicapped, but don't let that interfere with enjoying life.  Truly almost died in early October.  Missed the last 2 years of York, as I was involved in a cross country move.

Don't currently have a layout, but am working on the issues preventing one.  Have more trains than one could run in a lifetime, so am looking to sell a ton as soon as I inventory and send the list out.  If you collect a certain type of car, especially if Lionel, I may have it available :-)  I really most down size, as I do have more than 1000 train pieces.

Make many specialty cars using electronics from low to high tech,  Made a clone of the electric billboard car long before it was released by Lionel and for 1/4 the price.  You might like my illuminated radioactive tank cars.

Tried to get this rag to publish my article on REALLY refurbishing Post War Switches, but got ignored by two of their staff members.  Still willing to write it, as it blows away any prior articles, and gets most switches to work as low as 6 to 8 volts all the time.

Like it a lot when folks reply to my posts.  Nice and Inexpensive deserved more than ONE read!  Enough for now, lets see some replies!

Original Post

My most vivid memories involve the Reading's renowned Iron Horse Rambles. They began on October 25, 1959 and ran through 1964. Many thundered by my home in Berne, PA. No. 2124, the T-1 used from 1959 through 1961, is now displayed at Steamtown with a fresh coat of paint in her freight scheme. I'll attach photos. First, I posed in the cab of No. 2102, the replacement for 2124 (1962-1964). She had just returned from Brownsville, PA, and was spotted inside the Reading Locomotive Shops along North Sixth Street where she had been rebuilt from an immense I-10sa 2-8-0 40 years earlier.

And here is a Lionel T-1 custom painted and detailed as 2124 by Reading Steam Guru. She had been upgraded with QSI 3000. Runs like a Hamilton watch.
