Tomorrow I drive down to NJ to celebrate my Dads 94th Birthday. He was in Pattons 3rd Army fighting his way across France and Germany. He proudly wears his WWII Veteran Baseball Hat. Very rarely does he speak of the battles, but when he does you can see in his eyes he remembers it like yesterday.
I will take him to the local VFW hall for a drink on Saturday.
God Bless all who served and their families.
Paul
Thank You to everyone who served.
This hangs in my next door neighbors garage. There whole story is fascinating.
George is one of the few people who survived combat in the front lines.
During that time he received 2 purple hearts, 4 bronze stars , Battle of the bulge,
and was one one of 7 men out of his platoon to survive the entire war.
This all happened at the age of 19 and a time frame of 10 months.
Hats of to this war hero....

I'm not management, but I would assume your post was deleted because this is not a military history forum.
The meaning, and importance, of Memorial Day however, transcends the guidelines of any forum.
That's what I think anyway.
Happy Railroading.
We save this for November 11th but best wishes to all veterans anyway, past present and future.
